CHORAL SERVICE AT ST. ALBAN’S
BRIDE WEARS LOVELY VEIL OF HONITON LACE t BATTERSBY—FIRTH The wedding was celebrated on Wednesday evening, at St. Albans Church, of Nancy Beatrice, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Firth, of Taumata Road, Mount Albert, and grand-daugh’ter of the late Dr. and Mrs. P. H. Blackmore, of Coromandel, and Mr. W. R. Battersby, of Kingsland. Tho service being fully choral, the bride and her attendants were led up the aisle by the officiating clergyman, the Rev. J. Greenwood, and the choir, which was augmented by the choir of St. Chad’s Church. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore an ankle-length gown of satin beaute, with long tight-fitting sleeves, and a beautiful veil of honiton lace. She carried an ivory prayer book.
The two bridesmaids, Miss May Langhorn, of Waipu, and Miss Myrtle Elliott, wore frocks of eau de nil georgette, fashioned alike with uneven hemlines and silver head-dresses. They carried bouquets to tone. The little flower-girl. Miss Joan Gisby, was in primrose georgette, and carried a basket of rose petals. Mr. J. Battersby, brother of the bridegroom, acted as best man, and the bride’s brother, Mr. K. Firth, was groomsman. The ushers at the church were Mr. J. Kiif and Mr. Wyvern Warin.
A reception was afterward held at tho Carlton Hall, where the bride’s mother received her guests in a frock of navy georgette, with hat and wrap to tone. The bridegroom’s mother wore a fawn and navy gown.
