LADY FOWLDS IS HOSTESS AT BRIDGE EVENING
FUNDS FOR GRAMMAR SCHOOL ASSEMBLY HALL Lady Fowlds grave a very enjoyable bridge evening at her home at Mount Albert on Wednesday evening in aid of the Taka puna Grammar School Assembly Hall fund. The lounge, where the card tables were arranged, looked very charming with bowls of pink camellias and fragrant phlox. Lady Fowlds, who received her guests wearing a frock of black chenille velvet relieved with touches of pink, was assisted by her two daughters, Mrs. C. M. Littlejohn and Mrs. Arthur Bailey. Among the players were Mrs. Garlick, Mrs. Hook, Mrs. Sharpies, Mrs. Martin, Mrs. Aekins, Mrs. Allen Hume, Mrs. Batkin, Mrs. Smeeton, Mrs. Caughey, Mrs. Masefield, Mrs. Hislop, Mrs. Astley. Mrs. Brookes, Mrs. Taylor, Mrs. Wallace, Mrs. W. Fowlds, Mrs. F. Brown, Mrs. Clarke, Mrs. Rouse, Mrs. Jeffries, Miss Pegler, Misses Fouhy <*2). Miss Jonghin, Miss Blackwell (Christchurch), Miss Lamb.
