BOXING ON WEDNESDAY Much interest is being taken in the boxing bout between Tommy Mclnnes and Davo Palmer, of Australia, which will take place at the Town Hall next Wednesday evening. As Ambrose Palmer could not make anywhere near Mein lies’s weight, the services of his brother Dave were obtained as substitute. But the substitution will make no difference to patrons, for Palmer is reported to be a willing fighter, and there is no doubt of his punching power, as he knocked out Smitlieram at Nelson early this week. The following amateur preliminaries have been arranged:—Manson v. Murfitt. Hogg v. Me Knight. Crook v. Lindesay. Gifford v. Painter, and an emergency bout between Johns and Brentnall
