TALK TO CONSTITUENTS
MR. CLINKARD AT ROTORUA From Our Own Correspondent • ROTORUA, Monday. Mr. C. H.' Clinkard, M.P. for Rotorua, gave a mid-sessional address to his constituents on Saturday evening. The Mayor, Mr. T. Jackson, presided. The first part of Mr. Clinkard’s speech consisted mostly of a refutation of statements to the effect that the present Government had been unduly. extravagant. , Mr. Clinkard recorded his disappointment at the attitude taken up by some electors with regard to the temporary cessation of work on the Blue Bath. So far, he said, during the regime of the present Administration. more money had been spent in and around Rotorua than during the period its predecessors had been in office. Now, when shortage of finance necessitated some 'delay in the carrying out of a comprehensive scheme, the citizens were up in arms. At the conclusion of Mr. Clinkard’s address he was accorded a hearty vote of thanks.
