MARRIED 60 YEARS
AUCKLAND CELEBRATION The 4>oth anniversary of their marriage was celebrated on Saturday by JYIr. and Mrs. Henry Partridge, at their home in Grafton Road. On August 2, 1870, Mr. Partridge was married in Auckland to Miss Miriam Antoinette Odium. Mr. Partridge was born in London 82 years ago and, on arriving in New Zealand when he was 20 years of age, he went to Thames to become engaged in gold-mining operations. He later came to Auckland, and, in 1872, established the business of 11. K. Partridge and Company, general merchants. Though Mrs. Partridge Is only a few months younger than her husband, she was born in Auckland. She has spent most of her life here and remembers clearly the important developments in the growth of the city. There is one son, Mr. H. H. Partridge, and five daughters, Mrs. Malcolm Wiseman, Mrs. W. 11. Graham, Mrs. Alan Duthie, Miss L. Partridge and Miss J 3. Partridge. There are 12 grand-children, and one great-grand-daughter.
