ROXY
FINE PROGRAMME That sparkling star of “Kiki,” “Tiger Rose,” “Lulu Belle” and other stage hits, Lenore XJlric, may be seen and heard at the Roxy Theatre this week in “South Sea Rose.” Adapted from the stage play, “La Gringa,” and directed by Allan Dwau. “South Sea Rose” reveals Miss Ulrie in the role of a madcap maiden of the tropics plying her mischief on a crew of 'seamen and bringing terror upon the smug villagers. Tom Patricola and Farrell Macdonald. In addition to her dramatic efforts in “South Sea Rose.” Miss XJlric also sings and dances. A particularly fine supporting programme of talkie featurettes is- also being presented at the Roxy, of which the chief item is the capital comedydrama, “Swellhead.” starring the popular comedian. Johnny Ilinos. BENEFIT CONCERT A benefit concert in aid of unemployed musicians was given at the Lyric Theatre last evening, when there was an attendance of about 500 people.
