SEAMEN GIVE TROUBLE

DICTATING TERMS HOLD UP STEAMER MOERAKI DELAYED TRIP TO FIJI SYDNEY, Friday. Owing to the refusal of the Union Steam Ship Company to reinstate dismissed firemen, the remaining firemen on board the steamer Moeraki refused to take the vessel to sea at noon today, and her departure for Fiji had to be postponed until tomorrow. The Industrial Registrar is trying to effect a settlement, but the men’s union is not sanguine. This dispute follows rapidly upon the registration of the Seamen’s Union a fortnight ago.
