NEW FEDERATION’S AIMS Members of the primary, secondary and technical school teaching professions assembled at* the first meeting of tho Auckland branch of the newiyformed New Zealand Federation of Teachers held in the Seddon Memorial Technical College last evening. Mi F. A. Garry of Mount Roskill. who pre sided, outlined the constitution and aims of the federation. The three branphes of teaching arp represented equally on the executive 6f the new body although primary teach • ers are by far the strongest numerically. The real aim is the encouragement of fellowship by friendly talks through which everyone’s point of view will be realised. Resolution*’ on questions affecting the profession as a whole will be left until later in the development. “The scheme was launched without any very definite object but we hope It will grow and eventually become a ver\ lusty body,’’ said Mr. Garry.
