S M., Johy Stanley Baird pleaded f ullt -' ‘ charge of vagrancy, and to obtaining various sums totalling nearly from tradesmen and others m ngarei, Auckland. Hamilton, marunui and Rotorua, by meat* valueless cheques. After Tearing Mr. Burton on cused’s behalf, the magistrate sam iwould have granted probation only the fact that accused was without * sources. He ordered accused to detained for reformative purposes a period not exceeding one s ear.
