TEST MATCH OFF
GROUND UNFIT FOR PLAY AFTER RAIN UNSATISFACTORY DRAW LONDON, Tuesray. The fourth Test cricket match, Australia v. England, had to be abandoned today as rain had fallen all night and rendered the ground at Old Trafford, Manchester unfit for play. Australia made 345 in the first innings and England had lost eight wickets for 251. SHORTER HOURS URGED SUGGESTION FOR FIFTH TEST Reed. 9.5 a.m. LONDON, Tuesday. Mr. Kelly, manager of the Australian cricketers, has made representations to the Marylepone Cricket Club for shorter hours in the fifth Test at the Oval. He suggests one hour less daily because the match is being played to a finish.
