ANNUAL MEETING

GRAMMAR SCHOOL OLD GIRLS’- ASSOCIATION The Auckland Grammar School Old Girls’ Association held its annual meeting in the Grammar School Hall last evening. Aliss K. Edgerley. acting-president, presided in the absence of the president. Aliss F. AlacDonald, who is on a visit to Australia. Aliss X. Gallaher, the secretary, read the report, which stated that 70 new members had been enrolled this year, making the membership exceed 300. A large number of these, however, had failed to keep in touch with the association. Several social events had been held during the year and had proved most successful. With regard to sport, the Auckland representative basketball team had included several old girls. In cricket, tho senior grade had won the Championship Cup and the junior had won its grade also. A long-felt want had been realised in the introduction of an old girls’ blazer. The Dramatic Club, which had been formed during the year, had organised several" evenings, but these had been discontinued through lack of interest Co-operation with other organisations had taken i ’ace during the year, and tho association had granted donations for school prizes. The report of the Almoners’ Guild was read by Aliss I. Penrose, and the treasurer of the association. Aliss Bonnie Lund, read the balance sheet.
