NEW LYNN BOROUGH COUNCIL
The Xew Lynn Borough Council met on Monday evening, the deputy-mayor, Mr. G. Lawson, presiding. The sanitary inspector reported that since the sewerage scheme had been installed, at a total cost of £82,000, only 162 connections had been made, involving £4,997. After reducing the number of applicants for the position of borough inspector to four, the council decided to appoint Mr. R. R. Kidd, of Xorth-. cote, to the position, at a.salary of £6 a week. Mr.. Kidd will take over his new duties on August 18. The present engagement of the turncock, building inspector and traffic inspector will terminate on August 23. The new officer will carry out the combined duties of the three, the saving to the council being estimated at about £2OO a year.
