N.Z. RHODES SCHOLAR

PRESENTATION AT NORTHCOTE At the conclusion of the evening service at St. John the Baptist Church, Northcote. last evening, the congregation adjourned to the Parish Hall to bid farewell to Mr. Percy C. Minns, New Zealand Rhodes Scholar, who leaves for England early next month. Mr. C. A. Deuxberry, treasurer to the vestry, presided and among those present were the Mayor of Northcote, Mr. A. E. Greenslade, and the town clerk, Mr. W. Wilson. The chairman said that the choice of Mr. Minns was an honour to Northcote and to the City of Auckland. On behalf of the congregation he tendered their expressions of goodwill and said they would follow his career in England with great Interest. The vicar, the Rev. F. W. Wilkes, wished Mr. Minns good luck and God speed, and presented him with a cabin travelling trunk. Mr. Minns suitably replied.
