WOMEN’S INSTITUTES

TAUPIRI BRANCH A special meeting of the Taupiri branch of the Women’s Institute was called for Thursday afternoon last, the purpose being to entertain Mrs. Irwin, the official organiser of the district. Miss Roskruge presided. The greater part of the afternoon’s programme was occupied by a most interesting address by Mrs. Irwin on “The Life of Napoleon Bonaparte.” Mesdames Sowman and Tapper were the hostesses. A vote of sympathy was passed with Mr. A. Stephens. whose wife died suddenly during the week.
