Leading sires

F°r the second year in succession Nelson Bingen has headed the list of winning sires in New Zealand. Last season, after being runner-up to Logan Pointer for several years, he secured the honours, and again he has succeeded in producing the largest quota of prize winners. The defunct Logan Pointer put up a fine record, being top scorer for five consecutive seasons, while for the last two years he has been a close second to Nelson Bingen. In the past seven seasons progeny, of Logan Pointer won £161,613, an average of £23,087 a year, while over the same period Nelson Bingen’s total was £114,819, or £16,402 a year.
