EXPERT FROM ENGLAND ACCEPTS IMPORTANT POST MR. W. TANNOCK’S CAREER It is announced that Mr. W. Tanaock son of Mr. D. Tan nock, keeper ofV£ Dunedin Botanic Gardens, has accepted the position of plantation manager technical supervisor f or land Tung Oil Corporation. - Mr. Tannock is at present studying at the famous Kew Botanical GardtnE in England under Dr. Dollemore. th‘ keeper of the Kew botanical nurserfe* and is taking a particular interest in the tung plant. According to a letter received by Mr. William Tannock ; s father in Dunedin, Dr. Do'lemore is most enthusiastic about tung oil and its cultivation in the Dominion. After leaving Kew, Mr. Tannock Intends to spend some time at th«» tunr oil experimental plantations at Florida, U.S.A., where he will investigate the latest and most scientific method* ©f cultivation. He will then return t 0 New Zealand, where his expert ledge will be of great assistance to tipsuccessful establishment of the tung oil industry. Mr. Tannock further states that the economic and botanical experts at th* Kew Gardens are extremely busv Investigating and assisting the further development of tung oil within the Empire, and much valuable advice wil: no doubt be forthcoming from thiF source in the near future.
