THE death of Mr. Frank McKenzie. at Westport last week, removes another link from the trotting pioneers of the West Coast. Since his boyhood days '’Mac” was connected with the sport in Reef ton, and whan later settling in th* Buller district He trained and drove several horses for Mr. H. McCaskill. In Morcadante he had a speedy, bat somewhat unlucky, mare, and alee put the polish on Wild Peter and Dulcie Bingen. The late sportsman was of a quiet, unassuming nature, and this, together with his love of fairness and straight deal* ing earned him golden opinions among West Coast followers ef the pastime.
