OMINOUS NAMES

TROUBLE AND RISK UNFORTUNATE CAREERS The Hunterville sportsman, Mr. K. M. Duncan, has good ''reason to doubt the wisdom of the old maxim, ‘‘There’s nothing in a name.” Two of his hunters, Trouble and Risk (the latter being a gift from Mr. A. T. Gatrell), have had most unfortunate hunttnt and and racing careers, and at the Manamatu Point-to-Point recently both finished in second place in their respective races. Mr. Duncan rides the horses himself, and he is one of our most capable riders, but success eludes his representatives just when things seem brightest. Of Trouble and Risk it may be said that they never run a bad race, and with the probability of the pair entering L. Knapp’s stable very shortly, they may get over the handicap of ominous names.
