“OPTIMISM”
ENCOURAGING ADDRESS TO RAILWAYMEN MR. H. H. STERLING’S HOPES Press Association WELLINGTON, Today. Mr. H. H. Sterling, General Manager of Railways, speaking at a smoke concert on Saturday, said lie positively declined to take a pessimistic view of the railway situation. organisation was on the point of giving greater service to the community than ever before. This would depend to a great extq*it on the loyalty of railway servants, and he made a striking appeal to them to put it into practice. He thought they were On the edge of great things and had never before been in such a position to do good. The railway service had given in the past, was giving now, and would in future give greater service to the community. The work they had done was about to bear fruit, and the clouds would roll away.
