ROAD TO ORAKEI STATION

In a. report last evening to the City Council, following a question by Cr. J. R. Lundon. the City ' Engineer, Mr. J. Tyler, said the work on the new road leading to Orakei railway station consisted of constructing a thoroughfare from Shore Road to Orakei Creek bridge. The first portion, from Shore Road to the railway property, was well under way. The sum of £385 allowed in the estimate for stonework had not been expended fully, and the balance would be used in constructing short portions of stone wall to protect parts of the cutting requiring strengthening.
