HOSPITAL TREATMENT
“NORTH SHORE PENALISED” COMPLAINT AT TAKAPUNA As a result of the difficulty of a patient recently in finding accommodation at the Auckland Hospital, and certain trouble in the past in securing attention for patients from the North Shore, Mr. J. Guiniven suggested to the Takapuna Borough Council last evening that the Minister of Health, the Hon. A. J. Stallworthy, should be asked to expedite the building of a hospital on the North Shore Mr. Guiniven and the town clerk are to frame a letter to the member on the Auckland Hospital Board. Mr. W. A draft of a by-law prohibiting cyclists and children on scooters and trolleys holding on to moving vehicles in the borough was brought forward A. special meeting has been called for luly 29 to deal with the question. A grant of £3 3s was made to the Alilford Surf and Life-Saving Club. In future bowser pumps In the borough will be required to be erected on private property, but those already on the kerbs will not require to be moved.
The resignation of Air. J. F. Colegrove as a member of the Works Committee was accepted. Air. J. Guiniven was appointed in his place.
At the conference of local authorities to consider the establishment of a commercial airport in Auckland, the council will be represented by Aiessrs. A. H. Wilkie and B. C. Hart.
A resolution was carried affirming the principle of the open market in Auckland, and a cop3* of this is to oe forwarded to the City Council.
