SAFEGUARD DURING WAR
FLAGS ON PUBLIC BUILDINGS The flying of an international “cultural” flag on buildings of architectural or historical interest, to protect them from destruction in time of war, Has a suggestion received yesterday afternoon by the council of the Auckland Institute and Aluseum from the Roerich Institute, New York. The council considered the idea to be a good one. but no action was taken. A bronze rail is to be erected at each of the entrance colonade at the War Memorial Museum. In his report the director, Air. Gilbert Archey. said the attendance since June 1 had been 26,610 and, for the year, 183,927.
