WOMAN DRIVER CHARGED WITH NEGUGENCE MOTOR-CYCLIST INJURED Decision was reserved by Mr. F. 11.. 1-evien, S.M., at the Otaliuhu Police Court yesterday, in two charges preferred against Mrs. M. Watkins (Mr. R- W. P. Wood) for failing to keep to the left of the road, and failing to Sive way to traffic approaching on her right. The case was the result of an accident at the junction of Hokonui and Great South Hoad on April 29. when William Henry Kay was severely injured. Kay said he was travelling south along the Great South Road on a motor-cycle at 7.15 a.m. When approaching the junction of the two r uads, he saw a car suddenly come out °* Hokonui Road, and in trying to avoid a collision he applied the brakes °f his motor-cycle, and the machine Mudded and swerved across the road, fr® did not remember anything after that. James King said he saw Mrs. WatKins turning the corner to proceed toward Auckland, travelling very near footpath on the right-hand side ut the side street. As her car reached 110 concrete, a car travelling south Passed her, just missing hitting her. A i-i orr ? ent ater he saw that Mrs. Wat]'f 88 car had stopped, and Kay was Un derneath it.
