TRADE RECIPROCITY
AUSTRALIA AND NEW ZEALAND ANOTHER CONFERENCE Press Association CHRISTCHURCH. Monday. There is to be further discussion between Australia and New Zealand on the question of reciprocity in trade, said the Prime Minister, the Hon. G. W. Forbes, this cvenins. Recently the Hon. P. A. de la Perrelle, representing tho Government, had a preliminary discussion with the Minister of Customs for the Common weal tli. This raa bo followed up by a further confer ence between Commonwealth and Dominion. “Each country pets a certain amount of preference.” said Mr. Forbes. “The whole question has to be ex an ined before we can see what alteration* might be made.”
Commenting on the Canterbuiy Fruitgrowers’ Association’s desire for a prohibitive tariff on certain fruits imported into New Zealand, AD. Forbes said this question had been considered by the Government, but no dafinite attitude had been taken.
