DAYLIGHT LIMITED

OBJECTION TO “CUT” KING COUNTRY* PROTEST from Our Own Correspondent TAUMARUNUI, Tuesday. A meeting of the Taumarunui Chamber of Commerce last evening resolved to enter a protest against the cutting out of the Daylight Limited express from the Main Trunk run. Letters have been forwarded to the Minister of Railways and to the member for the district, Mr. F. Langstone, pointing out that while the chamber is conscious of the necessity for economising in the railway service, it respectfully protests against the abolition of the Auckland-Wellington Daylight expresses, and suggests that either the first or second night express be cancelled instead.
