The man is a nuisance, and a drug addict. He is always going down to ships, saying he is a doctor, and attempting to secure drugs." Mr. Hunt: Yes. he’s been in every gaol in South Africa. Mr. Noble admitted that his client seemed to be insane on the subject of drugs. He understood that Ross had once been a doctor.

Mr. Hunt: He’s never been a doctor in his life, though his father was a well-known one. I have received a report from his relatives at Masterton. who say he is hopeless, and a liar to boot. They have sent him home onca and they wish they could send him away again. "I would like to say that I have no relatives in Masterton at all,” said Ross.

Mr. Hunt said he would remand the case until tomorrow to enable Mr. Noble to see the report from the relatives of Ross at Masterton.
