A “GRIEVANCE DAY” S
NOVEL SUGGESTION BY TRAMWAYMEN
TRANSPORT MEMBERS’ QUIP
A “grievance day,” to be set aside once a month for the airing of difficulties, was a suggestion put forward to the Transport Board this morning by the Tramway and Omnibus Employees’ Union.
The unioii said that the object o£ a “grievance day’’ tvas to create opportunity for discussing -with the management, matters arising from meetings of the union, upon which interviews by deputation were necessary. The board unanimously declined the idea, members saying that existing facilities were adequate. ‘lf you grant them this you might, as well have another day for “congratulation day,” observed Mr. L. E. Rhodes with a twinkle. The Chairman. Mr. J. A. C. Allum: That would be from the public, of course. (Laughter.)
