“CONTEMPTIBLE THEFT”
SMALL CHILD ROBBED MAORI FOOTBALLER FINED From Our Oxen Correspondent THAMES, Today. "A mean, contemptible theft” was the description the police gave to tht; actions of Edward Abrahams a wellknown ex-representative Maori footballer iu the Thames Police Court this morning, when he pleaded guilty to the theft of purse of money, which he took from a small child who was sent by her mother for groceries. Abrahams was fined £4 and ordered to make restitution, and pay costs 19s. Default was fixed at 14 days* imprisonment.
