45 TO GO FROM HUTT WORKSHOPS RAILWAYS ANNOUNCEMENT Press Association WELLINGTON, Today. ! The Minister of Railways, the Hew. W. A. Veitch.. announced today that a i number of men are being disnusaad from the Hutt railway workshops. It is understood 45 will suffer. A resolution was carried unanimously at a mass meeting of the Hutt railway workshop employees yeeterday, registering an emphatic protest against dismissing railwaymen while no other provision for employment was made for them. They stated that th© work ! upon which they were engaged is not [ completed. i Mr. Jordan has communicated with the Minister of Railways, asking , whether the rolling stock is in danger i of being neglected by the reduction of staff, .and requesting that considerai tion be given to our citizens, who axe ! forced into facing poverty and loss of • their homes.
