MASTER LU DOES WELL TRACKS CUTTING UP Press Association WELLINGTON, Today. Tho weather was overcast and cold at Trentham this morning, the tracks cutting up a little. All work was done on the grass. Rational 11. and First Money took 54 for four furlongs, and Hynanna and Ex Dono ran si:: in 1.25, the last live in 1.10, going easily. Portray ran tho last three of four in 40, and Arikiwai and Habit covered four in 51 2-5. Duellona and Crash went four in 51 3-5. A Smart Sprint Limosin beat Roi de Yal easily at the end of four in 50—a good effort. JoiedeVal and Intruder went four In 51 2-5, and Historic and Saltpot four in 55 2-5, going easily. Odin did pace work. Lady Reno and White Doe strode over six furlongs in 1.25 2-5, and Staghunter and Panther could have improved on their 52 for half a mile. Tori trotted a little sore and did light work. Panorama was schooled over throe hurdles, giving a good display. Lady's Boy was much too good for Valquette over four in 51 3-5, and Tourist strode round freely at a good pace. Paris and Apache did a solid seven furlongs in 1.39, the last four in 57. Win for Luminary Luminary just beat Prince Lu, with Mountain Guide some lengths back, over seven furlongs, in 1.395, the last four in 50. Black Duke went twice round at easy pace. Matu gave a much improved display over live steeplechase fences. Taumal did light work, but looks particularly well. Paddon could have improved on the 54 it' took him for half a mile. Mangani Runs About Mangani ran about a little. but jumped live steeplechase fences in fine style. He looks a lit horse. Nukumai and Sir Moment led Taramoa over the five steeplechase fences. Both Nukumai, and Sir Moment pleased. Nukumai is to run in the Wellington Steeplechase on Tuesday and will be ridden by A. Skipper. Master Lu led Waitaunalia over five fences, the former giving an excellent display. Havering trotted to the half-mile, but came home only at half-pace. He looks bright, but a trifle burly for him. Carinthia did two rounds of solid pace work. Fine Acre jumped smartly over four hurdles. He should do well at the meeting. Overnight arrivals are Marble King. Mendip, Kiosk, Gowan Lea, Mount Shannon, Prince Desmond, The Warden, Omeo and Singer.
