A report was submitted on behalf of the Internal Sales Committee which is still of the opinion that (1) Compulsory standardisation is an urgent necessity and indispensable to success (2) Local control is imperative; (S) A bureau of statistics is required immediately: (4) Advertising, although absolutely necessary, should he withheld until standardisation is a realitand then should l*e Dominion-wide. The president. Mr. T. C. Brash, said the mandate for the pr»*s*»nt should b standardisation and advertising. H** moved “That the conference express*-*; its hearty appreciation of the work done by the Local Marketing Committee and pledges itself again to do everything possible to assist the committee in its efforts to secure a sue ecssful vote on the question of local control f«*r the purpose of putting into force compulsory standardisation and a levy for advertising.** Mr. Firth, of Auckland, seconded and the motion was carried.
