Lowry, who presided, said tiny ail regretted the departure of Mr. Walters from tlie district. Mr. I*. Gilchrist said Mr. Walt* rs had been a valued member of the Wait<>a Drainage Board. On behalf of Tin people of tlie district he presented Mr. M alters with a handsome illuminated address. Cr. Lowry followed by presenting Airs. A\ alters with a solid leather travelling case, while Cr. Kennedv handed to Miss Walters a handsome handbag. In making the presentation. Cr. Lowry said that both Mr. and Mrs. Walters had set a fine example to the young people of the district. He wished them every success and a safe return to New Zealand. In presenting Air. Walters with a woollen rug. Cr. McLean eulogised Cr. \N alters’s local body work of many The Mayor of Te Aroha, Mr. R. Coulter. wished Mr., Mrs. and Miss Walters a happy holiday In Australia and a speedy return to New Zealand. Mi. C. J. Parlane, general of the New Zealand Co-operative Dairy Company. referred to Mr. Walters s strong support of co-operation. Mr. Walters briefly replied.
