MOUNT EDEN COUNCIL’S VIEWS Instructions to its representative to oppose the suggestion that the council should contribute toward the capital cost of the new Whau Bridge were given by the Mount Eden Borough Council iast evening, in dealing with the question of evidence tQ be tendered to the commissioner, who commences his inquiry on Wednesday. Suggestions for the control of traffic at Eden Park on July 19 and 26, the occasions of the matches against the British Rugby team, were advanced by the inspector, who was authorised to confer with the police. The inspector also suggested the adoption of a by-law to prevent the impeding of traffic during the football season by vehicles turning to the right into Valley Road and Walters Road between 4.45 p.m. and 5.45 p.m. Permits for the erection of buildings valued at £3,983 were issued during the month.
