MUSEUM DELEGATE’S POSITION
If the War Memorial Museum Council wishes to consult the local bodies contributing to its funds, should it ignore the three local body representatives on the committee by writing directly to the local bodies asking them to send delegates to a conference?
This question in procedure was raised at the meeting of the Devonport Borough Council last evening by Mr. T. Walsh. when the Auckland Museum Council invited the local bodies to send delegates to a meeting to discuss the flood lighting of the Museum and the Cenotaph. The council was of opinion that the local body members on the Museum Council were competent to deal with the subject. The council, after some discussion, resolved that the flood lighting scheme bo supported if it did not involve the local bodies in further expenditure. If there is a conference Mr. Walsh will represent, the council.
