ST. JAMES
“NO, NO, NANETTE”
* Admirers of Louise Fazenda who ! have been wishing she would some day j play* a dressed-up part instead of her ! usual “frump” roles, will have an opj portunity to see her superbly gowned , | for once in “No, No. Nanette.” now at j the. St. James Theatre. I Miss Fazenda appears in the latest ’ fashions in her role as the wife of a j kind-hearted millionaire who couldn't find enough people on whom to spend his money. Her ritzy' portrayal is short-lived, however, as it occurs during the last few scenes of the mirthful musical comedy. During the rest of the time she is dressed as usual—like an old maiden aunt, in which type of role she lias made thousands laugh. Bernice Claire and Alexander Gray take the leading roles. Both are new screen personalities, this picture bein?> Miss Claire’s first and Gray’s second. They have youth, good voices, ability and a sparkling quality which makes them liked instantly' by film-goers. We will see more of them on the screen, and the more the better, for they are a charming pair. Lucien Littlefield, Bert Roach and Lilyan Tashman uphold the comedy* end in hilarious fashion. Others in the picture axe Zasu Pitts, Mildred Harris, Henry Stockbridge and Jocej lyn Lee. ; The St. James programme also in- ! eludes several short talkie featurettes.
