R. C. SHERISF LOSES £1,300 IN Nirc NIGHTS COMEDY GREEN” Sunday. After the pljlnomenal success cf “Journey’s End*' many people feared that the author, Mr. R. C. Sheriff, would strike an anti-climax in his village comedy, “Badger’s Green.” The fact is now revealed that the first nine performances of the comedy at the Prince of Wales’s Theatre have resulted in a loss of £1,300. Mr. Maurice Browne, the author's agent, says he would be prepared to lose £I.OOO a week for 10 weeks if he saw a chance of the comedy succeeding.
