ANXIETY ABOUT FLIER
NON-ARRIVAL OF PLANE FOR NEW PLYMOUTH HELD BACK BY HEAD WINDS Special to THE SUN NEW PLYMOUTH, Today. Some anixety was felt in New Plymouth on Sunday over the non-arrival of the new airplane presented on loan to the Western Federated Aero Club. The plane was really due there yesterday, but word was received on Sunday that Mr. Duthie, leaving Wellington at one o’clock, was calculating to arrive in New Plymouth between four and five in the afternoon. Flying- lan Keith and Mr. Neilson, the federation secretary, flew to Hawera to meet Mr. Duthie, but found he had not left Wellington till 2.15, and the plane had not been reported from intermediate points. Fly-ing-Officer Keith and Mr. Neilson were forced to return without tidings under very unpleasant conditions. Late in the evening news was received that Mr. Duthie had encountered heavy head winds and boisterous conditions, and had landed at Feiling, returning to Wellington yesterday. Fly-ing-Officer Keith left for Wellington last evening to bring the plane to New Plymouth himself.
