BUSINESS AT MEETING The sale of lottery tickets on the Railway Department’s land at the corner of the post office was deprecated by several speakers at the meeting of the Council of Christian Congregations last evening. The Rev. E. Drake presided. In reply to a complaint sent to the Railway Department, a letter was received informing the council that its protest would be considered. Appreciative reference was made to the services to the council given by the Rev. D. C. Herron, who had recently been transferred from St. David's Church in Auckland, to Knox Church, Dunedin. Two members elected to the executive were Mr. B. B. Hooper and Mr. G. W. Blakey.
