FUNDS TO HELP SICK
APPEAL BY AUXILIARY ANNUAL STREET COLLECTION Funds to assist families in need while the wage-earner is in hospital or convalescent, and in providing cheer for the needy siek, will be sought this weeK by the Auckland Hospital Auxiliary. The effort will commence with a reunion of trainees of tire Auckland Hospital, which will be held at the nurses’ home this afternoon. Secondary school girls will visit the various wards today, tomorrow and on Friday, distributing flowers and gifts. A bridge, evening and dance social has been arranged for tomorrow evening, and will be held at the Click Clack Cabaret. The annual street collection on Friday will be the final effort of the campaign. This will again be under the control of the Mayoress, Mrs. A. D. Campbell, and will bo assisted by women’s societies of the City. During the lunch hour University students will assist, and after 4 p.m. 94 girls from the Training College will take their places at the stalls. The appeal will continue from S a.m. to 6 p.m.
