ARKLE’S BAY FIRE
BOARDINGHOUSE DESTROYED Only three chairs and a table were saved when fire completely destroyed Arkle’s Bay House, a well-known boardinghouse at Arkle’s Bay. shortly after 11 o’clock last evening. The old two-storeyed wooden building was popular with holidaymakers and yachtsmen. The owner, Mrs. O’Connor, was not at the house, and the only occupants \\ ere Mr. and Mrs. Roy Maher, their small son, and two other guests. The insurance on the boardinghouse Is not available, although it is understood that the building was covered againstfire.
