RIALTO, NEWMARKET
“The Loro Star Ranger” is being shown at the Rialto Theatre. A “cowboy” unjustly outlawed and embittered against lawr and order, a “liold-up” by bandits of the mail coach, in which is travelling a beautiful girl, and a feud between ringers and a band of wrongdoers provide the materiiJ for a dramatic story. Needless to sa *, the outlaw rescues the passengers in the coach, wins a pardon by capturing the gang, and gains the love of the girl. The impossible exploits of the hero are. he wever, performed in accordance with the accepted canons of fiction, and make an absorbing film. As the outlaw, George O’Brien makes a typical son of the West Sue Carol, w’ho appears as the beautiful girl from civilised parts, gives a pleasing portrayal. Walter as the leader of the cattle thieves, and Warren Hymer r-s the girl's uncle, who is in league with the gang, are also seen to a.dvantage. ' The Doctor’s Secret,” which is also being shown, is a fine drama based on Sir James Barrie’s play “Half an Hour.” Ruth Chatterton and H. B "V\ arner are the stars.
