BUY N.Z.-MADE GOODS
MISS MELVILLE’S CAMPAIGN CO-OPERATION AT OPOTIKI j From Our Own Correspondent j OPOTIKI, Today. As a result of the stormy, cold night there was only a small attendance at the lecture given by Miss Ellen Melville last evening. Miss Melville dealt in a very lucid manner with the- benefits that would result to the Dominion if people bought New Zealand-made goods.. New Zealand-made goods in practically all instances were superior to imported articles, and much better value. If New Zealanders bought their own goods more it was possible the unemployed problem would be solved. Miss Melville pointed out that women did the most retail buying and urged them to buy Dominion goods on every possible occasion. If this were ’ done there would be no problem as to what would become of children leaving school. She exhibited a large number of lantern slides showing New Zealand manufactured goods. Practically every shopkeeper co- j operated with Miss Melville’s appeal, j displaying during the week New Zea- j land-made goods.
