WITH THE HOUNDS

PAKURANGA HUNT VISITS HOMAI AN ENJOYABLE OUTING There was a good field at the meet of the Pakuranga Hunt at Homai yesterday. The pack was thrown off on the property of Mr. Clutha Mackenzie, and worked Mrs. Palmer’s farm across on to Mr. Masters’, where a hare was put up which led the field for a good run through Mr. Smith’s farm. Leading tho way along the road, the quarry doubled back on to Mr. Masters’ and ran straight through to the Homai railway station, where it took to Brown’s Road on to Mr. Mackenzie’s, where it travelled practically the same circle on to the railway line. The hounds were called off, owing to the danger of passing trains.

A visit was then made to new' country in Weymouth Road on the property of Mr. Finlayson. It was not long before a good strong quarry was raised, which led the field around Mr. Finlayson’s farm, and through Mr. Motion’s, where it ran into barred country and was lost.

The field then returned across country to the home of Mr. Cluthg, Mackenzie, where afternoon tea was served. Mr. PC. Bullock-Webster, master of the hunt, thanked their host. Mr. Mackenzie suitably responded.
