STAFF DANCE AT HAMILTON

FARMERS' AUCTIONEERING COMPANY ENJOYABLE EVENING I I The Farmers' Auctioneering Company's annua! staff dance on Saturday night was most enjoyable. The landing was arranged as a ballroom and was decorated with balloons and streamers. Excellent music was played by the Rio Dance Band. The hostess was Mrs. H. Griffiths, who was wearing" a smart frock of ruby red chiffon. The women on the committee were: Miss M. Swayne, who was wearing a taffeta frock of phlox pink; Miss I. Rothery (Te Kuiti). cherry red georgette: Miss Rotherv (Te Kuiti). rose shot taffeta: Miss Patterson (Te Kuiti), in primrose taffeta; Miss S. Quick, frock of parchment taffeta; Miss J. Pratt, in delphinium blue georgette; Miss D. Pratt, flowered lame and pink georgette.

CHURCH CRADLE ROLL ENJOYABLE AFTERNOON AT ! PAPATOETOE Mrs. A. Muir, president of tlie Papa- j toetoe branch of the Presbyterian Cradle Roll, presided over a large attendance of tiny members and their mothers at a very enjoyable social afternoon held in the Sunday school hall, Great South Road. Papatoetoe. last week. The social had been arranged by the teachers of the primary division of the Sunday school. A pleasing programme of musical and elocutionary items was contributed by the children, who were assisted by Mrs. R. Wyllie. Mrs. W. Young. Mrs. S. McCullough, Miss Bertha 'Wyllie. and Miss Audrey Willerton. Miss J J. Valentine acted as accompanist. Mrs. King, assistant superintendent of the primary division, was presented with a handsome bouquet on her retirement from the position, in recognition of the valuable services given to the school. After an interval, during which afternoon tea was served, each child received a toy. The afternoon was brought to a close with the singing of “God Save the King.”
