ASSOCIATION S BAD YEAR Special to THE SUV HAMILTON, Today. A loss of £36 on the year’s working was revealed in the balance sheet presented at the annual meeting of the Hamilton Boxing Association last evening. Greater public support would be needed if the committee was to' carry on its efforts during the coming years. Three tournaments had been staged, one of which, the South Auckland championships, had drawn record entries. However, the other two resulted in a financial loss. Officers were elected as follow: Patron. Mr. J. Fraser-Smith; president, Mr. F. Baker; vice-presidents, Messrs. H W. Burch, R. T. Reid, 11. H. Howden, A. Carmichael, F. Jones, 11. D. Caro, A. W. Ebbett, C. A. Mathieson: committee, Messrs. F. Williams, J. Bowler, J. Blackball, G. E. Hare, G. L. Sanford. C. Bowler, T. PI Coombridge, F. Whittaker, H. Aitken. E. Ellis, W. TT. Prickett: secretary, Mr. Sanford; treasurer, Mr. Blackball; auditor. Mr. T. G. Reynolds. KING COUNTRY TOURNEY | From Our Own Correspondent TAUMARUNUI. Tuesday. The executive of the Taumarunui Boxing Association has decided to hold the King Country championship tournament at Taumarunui on July 5. As an outcome of the splendid exhibition they gave at the last tournament, Tommy Collins and Jock Wilson are to be invited to compete in a match I hero on July 5. The winner of the welter-weight ; championship will be the first holder lof the Venn Challenge Cup.
