FAREWELL TO COUNCILLOR
MR. F. W. WALTER S LONG SERVICE From Our Own Correspondent j TE AROHA, Monday. | After the meeting of the Piako ) County Council on Monday, Cr. W. R. j Lowry, took occasion to wish farewell ! to Cr. F. W. Walters, who is leaving i for Western Australia this month. He ! said Cr. Walters had been in the district about 20 years, and during the greater part of the time had been the j county member for the Waitoa Riding. H© had accomplished great work throughout, and as a riding member had shown great energy and results that would cause him to be remembered. Crs. Kennedy, Stark, Emett, Stewart, McLean, and Mr. N. Ray, county clerk, and Press representatives heartily endorsed the remarks of the chairman. Cr. Walters said he had been amply repaid that day for anything lie had done for the good of the district in past years. At the invitation of Cr, Walters, . the councillors then adjourned to luncheon.
