WESLEY OVERWHELMED
on its showing at Walker Park, j Point Chevalier, on Saturday after- I noon. Wesley should not have veil- i turned into senior hockey this season. ' ru,v was certainly above that of the junior game, but. lacked in many cssentl'ils that finish which should mark pU:,v in tlie upper grade. Varsity was ! never troubled seriously and, with ! ordinary efforts, could have increased j appreciably the final score of 6-0. The students have a good combine- 1 tion and a formation which stands firm under the most persistent attacks j Huy and Seelen were outstanding, and ! together, on the right wing, were re- I sponsible for the major number of the i runs which kept Varsity's score mount- . ins steadily. Seelen himself netted on three occasions. Kadcliffe, back on ■ live field after a short spell through an 1 injury to one hand, played his usual i steady defensive game. Certainly the best back of the day i was Fleet, a Wesley man, who showed u soundness in defence which saved j many serious situations for the greens. Only once or twice in the game, which was chiefly an attack by the students, did he fail to clear the ball away from I his section of Wesley’s circle. Kobel't..- | was unable to turn out on Saturday, j his place on the wing being taken by | Williamson, who made quite a good showing in that position. It was the : ionvards chiefly who were responsible tor the greens' defeat, over-eagerness I or. the part of Burton and Chappell especially spoiling several good | moves
