AUSTRALIA COMPLAINS
GOVERNMENT GOES ABROAD FOR MATERIALS COULD BE MADE LOCALLY Reed. 11.35 a.m. SYDNEY, Today. Mr. Edwards, secretary to the Chamber Manufactures, stated that the wireless apparatus which had been ordered abroad by the Post-master-General’s Department, could be made in Australia. Local companies had not been given a chance to quote for orders which involve an amount of £200,000.
Australians made for New Zealand apparatus which was required here, in competition with the rest of the world.
