General rates agreed upon by r: =» Hauraki Plains County Council at its monthly meeting on Thursday were r.follow: Turua lid. Kopuarahi 2*3. Korahia 2£d. Kerepeehi 2Jd. Xetherton. 2d, Pate tonga 3d. Xgatea 2 2d. Pipiroa, ' 3id, Waitakaruru 3d. Advice was received from the l*ands Drainage Department that the Patetonga tramline road would be metalled next summer and the tram rails removed. It was decided to urge the Government to metal the road right to the wharf before removing the tramline. The chairman, Cr. W. Madgwick and Cr. C. W. Parfitt, were nominated for the propos€*d Waiomo Park Domain Board. It was reported that about 70 objec- ■ tions had been filed for hearing at a sitting of the Assessment Court at Ngatea on June 18. Strong opposition was voiced to ! new regulations raising the weight limit for motor-lorries to 4a tons for ~wo-ax ed vv nicies ..ml ions tor sixv, heeled trucks.
