DELEGATES TO CONFERENCE

A.T.C. EXECUTIVE MEETS At a meeting of the committee of the Auckland Trotting Club on Wednesday, the president, Mr. J. Roive, was appointed to represent the club at the New Zealand Trotting Conference at Wellington on July 9. In the absence of the president, Mr. H. F. Nicoll, who is in England, Mr. Rowe will preside at the conference. It was agreed to leave the matter of voting either for, or against the remits, as published in the Official Calendar, which will come before the conference to the discretion of the delegate. Mr. Rowe informed the committee that there was nothing fresh to report in connection with the merger between the Auckland and Otahuliu Trotting Clubs. The matter Mould be dealt with at the conference, when the delegates would be asked to amend the* rules to allow the merger to takt place.

An application from the Auckland Baseball Club for the use of the middle area of tho club’s course at Alexandra Park as a playing ground on Saturdays was refused on the grounds that the play would interfere with training operations. which Mere carried out throughout the day. A donation was voted to the Auckland Amateur Swimming Association to assist toward sending Mr. G. Bridson and Miss G. Pidgeon to the British Empire Games next year. Accounts totalling £159 9s 3d wer* passed for payment.
